These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Natal ("the App"), developed by Nigelware ("we", "our", "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Natal is a Western astrology app. It calculates a natal chart and a Daily Sky of transits on your iPhone using the Swiss Ephemeris, and optionally answers questions about that calculated sky ("Ask the Sky"). Natal is for personal, non-commercial use.
Natal describes conditions and tendencies, never certainties. It is not medical, legal, financial, or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for a human astrologer or any licensed professional. Do not use the App to make health, legal, or money decisions.
The App is not directed at children under 13. By using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age, or that you are using it with a parent's or guardian's consent where required.
Birth data, charts, and Ask history are stored on your device. You are responsible for that data. Deleting the App, or clearing birth data in Profile, permanently removes it. We cannot recover it. See our Privacy Policy.
Ask the Sky sends a reduced snapshot of calculated placements and your question to a cloud interpreter so it can write a reply in plain English. It is told the calculated facts in advance and must not invent positions, aspects, or dates. Replies can still be incomplete, awkward, or wrong in emphasis. They are not a reading from a person.
Free use includes a limited number of questions each calendar month. We also cap requests per install per day to prevent abuse. We may refuse or interrupt a request that is malformed, abusive, or over those limits.
Natal Plus is an optional auto-renewable subscription sold through the Apple App Store:
Plus unlocks unlimited Ask the Sky questions (subject to the abuse cap above) and a two-month Daily Sky horizon. The free App remains usable without Plus: your chart, two weeks of Daily Sky, widgets, and five questions each calendar month.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Unused time in a period is not refunded except where required by law. Apple's standard EULA also applies to purchases made through the App Store.
Prices may vary by storefront. We do not offer a free trial.
You may not reverse engineer the App, attempt to extract bundled ephemeris data for redistribution, abuse Ask the Sky (including automated or high-volume requests), or use the App in any way that violates applicable law.
The App, its design, and its editorial copy are owned by Nigelware. Planetary calculations use the Swiss Ephemeris. Apple, the App Store, and related marks are trademarks of Apple Inc.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that calculations, copy, or Ask the Sky replies will be error-free, or that the App will be available at all times. Ephemeris coverage and house systems have documented limits (including unknown birth times and polar latitudes), which the App discloses in "How Natal calculates."
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nigelware shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for Natal Plus in the twelve months before the claim, or zero if you use only the free App.
If you downloaded the App from the App Store, these Terms are between you and Nigelware, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, has no obligation to provide support, and is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
