LoveLine Support & Terms

App: LoveLine: Daily Questions (iOS)
Developer: Nigelware
Support Email: nigeldbentley@gmail.com

LoveLine asks you and your partner the same question every day. Neither of you sees the other's answer until you have both replied. We are happy to help with any questions or issues.

Need a hand? Email nigeldbentley@gmail.com and we will get back to you as soon as we can, usually within a few days. Including your device model and iOS version helps us help you faster.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I connect with my partner?

Sign in, choose a name and an avatar, and you will be given a six-digit invite code. Send it to your partner; they enter it on their own Connect screen. You can answer the first question before they arrive — it seals and waits for them.

Can I try it before my partner joins?

Yes. On the Connect screen, under "Just exploring?", you can connect a demo partner: a clearly labelled stand-in whose answers are generated rather than written by a real person. It lets you see every feature on one device. A pair that has used the demo partner cannot later accept a real partner, so leave that pair and start again when they are ready.

Why can't I see my partner's answer?

Because you have not answered yet. That is the whole idea, and it is enforced by our database rather than by the app: until your answer exists, your partner's is genuinely withheld from your device. Answer, and both appear together.

Can my partner see my check-in number?

No. The daily "how full is your tank" reading is private to you. Your partner sees only the direction it moved — up, down, or level — never the number. This is enforced by our database rules, not just hidden in the app.

What does the subscription include, and what stays free?

The daily question, the reveal, your streak and love notes are free and always will be. A subscription unlocks what accumulates: the archive of past answers, the games, both love-language assessments, check-ins, milestones and widgets. One subscription covers both of you — if your partner has subscribed, there is nothing for you to buy.

What happens if my subscription lapses?

Nothing you have written is deleted. The archive, the games history, the assessments and the milestones stay exactly where they are, and come back if you subscribe again.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling at least 24 hours before the end of the current period stops the next renewal. We cannot cancel or refund a subscription on your behalf — refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I changed phone. How do I get my subscription back?

Open Settings → Subscription in LoveLine and tap Restore purchases.

Why didn't I get a notification?

Check that notifications are allowed: Settings → Turn on nudges in LoveLine, and iOS Settings → Notifications → LoveLine. iOS only asks once, so if you declined the first time you will need to allow it from iOS Settings. Notifications never contain the text of an answer or a check-in number.

How do I add the widget?

Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for LoveLine. Open the app once first so the widget has something to show.

What is the difference between signing out, leaving the pair, and deleting my account?

All three are in Settings, inside the app.

I found a bug, or I have a suggestion.

We would love to hear it. Email nigeldbentley@gmail.com with a short description of what happened and what you expected, plus your device model and iOS version if it is a bug.

Terms of Service

Effective 10 August 2026. These terms govern your use of the LoveLine iPhone app (the "App"), made by Nigelware. By using the App you agree to them.

LoveLine is also licensed to you under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where these terms and that licence differ on the terms of the licence itself, Apple's agreement governs.

Who May Use LoveLine

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to consent to these terms where you live. LoveLine is designed for adults in relationships.

Your Account

You sign in with Apple. You are responsible for keeping access to your Apple Account secure. One person, one account.

Pairing

LoveLine is used by two people. When you pair, you are choosing to share what you write in the App with that person. A pair holds two members and no more.

What is written inside a pair belongs to the pair. If you leave, or delete your account, your partner keeps what they wrote — and you lose access to the shared record. This is deliberate, and the App says so plainly before you tap.

Your Content

What you write in LoveLine is yours. We claim no ownership of it. We store and transmit it only to operate the App: to show it to your partner, to show it back to you, and to keep it safe.

You are responsible for what you write. Do not use LoveLine to harass, threaten, or abuse anyone, including your partner, and do not use it for anything unlawful.

Subscriptions

The Demo Partner

LoveLine offers a clearly labelled stand-in partner so the App can be explored on one device. Its answers are generated, not written by a person, and the App says so wherever it appears. It is not a real relationship, a service, or a person, and it is not a substitute for one.

Availability

We aim to keep LoveLine running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Features may change, and we may add or remove them over time. If we ever discontinue the App, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export or delete your data.

Ending Your Use

You may stop using LoveLine at any time and delete your account from within the App. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, in particular the rule against abuse.

Disclaimer

LoveLine is provided "as is". It is a tool for conversation between two people. It is not counselling, therapy, or medical, legal, or professional advice of any kind, and it should not be relied on as such. If you are in distress or in danger, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nigelware is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and you may have rights under your local consumer law that these terms do not affect.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will update the date above and note it in the App before it takes effect.
